Both myself and Steven are keen to fundraise this year, not just because we want the great charities to get the recognition and funds they deserve and so desperately need, but also because it’s helping us to find purpose in Avery’s death by giving back in memory of her … So, we’ve created #Averyspurpose
Avery’s purpose is our commitment that in 2017, we will do our best to make an impact on the world by supporting other baby loss parents and raising money and volunteering for stillbirth charities like SANDS, Tommys, The Rainbow Room Charity and 4Louis – all in the name of our precious little girl.
We both have different passions and hobbies, and wanted to use them to achieve this goal and I must say, Steven has excelled himself in putting together his plans for 2017 …
The 12 Event Challenge
Steven and his workmates at Pro-Fit personal training have planned a year of events, one per month to raise money for SANDS. Because they’re all buff, strong and would put my average fitness levels to shame, they’re using their passions to build a calendar of challenges, which include:
- Push a car a marathon
- 3 peaks challenge
- Special forces mountain climb
- Christmas calendar (for the ladies!) and so many more!
I genuinely couldn’t be prouder of him, his level of commitment to organising the challenges just shows what an incredible father he is to Avery.
Sunday marked his first event, a 5k around Sale Waterpark – whilst it may seem like a walk in the park compared to his other events, the turnout and atmosphere was heart-warming.
I’ll keep you posted throughout the year on his events.
